Christmas 2015

Sure hope you all had a very blessed day...ours was very enjoyable.  We had brunch around 10:00, then had baked ham sandwiches around 3:00. Paul, Paxton and Cindy headed out to see Star Wars around 5:00... The others headed home.

Here is Gretchen...she is a sweet addition to our family.  Sam just loves having his dog here.  She really is ute and very well trained.

Fun Morning

This morning I had brunch with my Church Guild.  We have been together for about 35 years.  This morning we were at my friend Nancy's and just before we arrived, her Christmas tree fell over...so since she is a single gal...the our that stayed after decided to help her put it back up.  Since I have a bum knee...I was just a straw boss.  We giggled soooo much...it was a hoot!

Oh Christmas Tree

Cindy and Sam have really done an outstanding job putting up our tree tonight.  It has brought some Christmas spirit to our home.🎄❤️

Rain...Go Away

It has literally rained here since Thursday....temperatures up and down.  Cindy went to St. Louis Friday and it it now 9:00PM Sunday...I have talked to her several times on the road...apparently it is like a parking lot on I 70.... I'll sure be glad when she walks in the house.

I can't get to any of your blogs....everything has changed.  I always went to Patsy's blog and used it as  my tool to get to you all...I tried to get on Betty's and Fleta's...they were changed also....any help would be appreciated.  I feel like my world is completely out of sync!!!

Mike and I went to hear Sam play today for some senior citizens at our community center.  Boy did the audience enjoy the Jazz from their era!

Yeah Royals

Sure don't want to jinx them....but the Royals are now up 3 -1 against Toronto.  I can not believe how awful the Blue Jays are....they are heaters and just all around ugly, non team players.

Friends

Great retired teaching friends opened a fantastic shop just off the square in Liberty today.  They call their place Three Gabejs Decor.  It has a wonderful look outside and an eclectic group of things for sale.  Mike and I went over to see the new/old place and while there...another friend from my fifth grade teaching time cam in also...,what a fun time!

Homecoming Weekend

Sure seems that all our beautiful/handsome grandkids are having a wonderful fall going to Homecoming dances.  Tonight is Staley's Homecoming dance and Paxton is taking his girlfriend Lauren to the dance.  They went down to Union Station in Kansas City and Paul went down and took pictures.  Here are a couple of he pictures..

Great Weekend

I am oh so tired...but Katy will leave in the morning to head back to Pennsylvania...she will make it to Indianappolis tomorrow to stay with friends.  We had a grand time Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Beautiful weather...yeah.  We had 140 sisters show up Sat morning...shown below is a good picture of most of the group...a year's worth of work really paid off!

Up Late

I am up late tonight...combination of excited and tired.  Tomorrow my sweet sorority sister named Katy will be here tho spend the weekend to go with Mike and I over to the big College weekend.  The sorority celebration has been in the planning stages for over a year.  I have been deep cleaning for a couple of weeks to get ready..today I got my nails done, shopped for some new clothes and got chicken salad made for tomorrow's lunch with Katy.  Katy's husband was a fraternity brother of Mike's and he died a couple of years ago.  She has driven all the way from Pennsylvania ...she first went down to her home town

Friday Night Game

We had beautiful weather last Fiday night for the football game.  It was an away game for Staley but it was played at North Kansas City High School.  That is the school where Sam changed his mind about going and that is where Cindy teaches.  The two smaller grand boys found Mije and I up in the stands and came up to join us.  I think they knew where the soft touches were sitting...needless to say...we paid for a few trips to the concession stand...here is a picture of the two guys eating cotton candy....

Guest Speaker

Well tomorrow and then again on Monday....I will be the guest speaker in Cindy's Self Development classes.  Guess what the subject is???? Being Elderly....arghh!!  I really am looking forward to showing them that not all elderly are feeble and slow👍

Paxton

The trainer worked with Paxton at practice today....some improvement.  We think things will be better and maybe he doesn't have a separation...he had more movement in his arm today.  We'll see if he is ready to play Friday night.  As a JV player he probably won't play...tough team, both are 4 -0.

Dreaded

Well the thing we always dread happen ended last night at the JV football game....Paxton got hurt.  After the game they went to Urgent Care and they sprayed his upper arm.  It doesn't show a break, but he still can't raise his arm over his head.  Mike is afraid that he has some type of separation which will not show up on an X-ray....time will sure tell.  Of course it is his right arm and he is right handed.  So..he us a sling King right now😢

Family Reunion

So sorry to let you all know that we will not be able to attend the family reunion on September 19th.  We now have two family obligations on Sept 18/19th.  We sure will miss all of you 😘

Great Night at Staley

It was a little hot...91 at start of game.  Paxton got to play at the end of the varsity game.  Staley won 40 - 16.  Sam was absolutely delighted that they marched in their official band uniform tonight.

Ok....I actually got back to walking today....it has been a long time, but I did walk a mile today.  Also, heard from Susie.  Paul is now to the point that he does not recognize her...she has worked so hard with him to fight this horrible disease called Alzeheimers.  Also, just to let you all know...Skip got out the June 1st.  I have talked to him several times, but I have not seen him.

1st Home Game

Beautiful night for opening game at Staley..Paxton didn't get to play, but he will play in the JV game Thursday evening.  Sam did really well at his first half time!

School Has Started

The kids all started School Wednesday ...Sam changed schools on Monday and they not only put him in marching band, but on Thursday they ask him if he would also like to play in Jazz Band.  He is beyond happy...the only real negative thing that happened was that someone stole his bag with four different, expensive drum sticks down at the other High School.

Paxton played in his first Football Jamboree that envolves all four of our high schools...it is like a scripted round robin.  He is playing junior varsity. Paxton is number 26 and he plays corner on defense.

Our Freshman Sam had a great first day...can't wait to hear from the other two about their say!!!

Sam made a good choice

Sam's Dad was able to enroll him by transferring from one high school to another successfully this morning.  I really think it will a good change for Am😘

New school

Sam and his family have had a very rough week. Sam made his decision that he is going to change high school tomorrow morning.  Kris is taking the day off work to register him at Staley High school which is his actual home school.  It has been an extremely upsetting week since he returned fro camp on Tuesday.  We all have cried many, many tears....but this is a good choice that Sam has made.  His older cousin Paxton will be a junior there and he will have Sam's back...

All of the distress has revolved around band....Sam's love.   He is leaving the school where his Mom teaches...

Visitor Sunday

Camp

Tonight is a big night at Scout camp.  Samuel will be come a Brave in the Tribe of Mic -O-Say (big honorary in Boy Scouts). Our son Paul went down for the ceremony tonight.  This picture is our son Paul and our son-in-law Kris before the big ceremony.   Cindy made their outfits...as you can tell...this is a big deal!

Musical

Last night Cindy and I went over to the Music Hall in KC.  I bought us tickets to see Derek and Julienne Hough put on a fantastic show.  They are brother and sister that have have been stars on Dancing With the Stars.  It really was a fantastic performance and we so enjoyed ourselves!

Boys left for camp

Kris and Sam headed out to Boy Scout Camp yesterday morning.   They were excited! Kris will be the Camp master this year and Sam will be called to be Brave in the tribe of Mic-o Say.  Our son Paul will go down on Wednesday night to join them for the ceremony.  In the troop picture....Kris and Sam are standing on the left on the second row.   Sam is now almost as tall as Kris.   We will go down for next Sunday which is visitor's Sunday!!! I sure hope they have a great 10 days!

Painting Done!!!

I really think this is my last painting job.  I will either hire it done next time or it will go undone!  I'm absolutely worn slick! Tomorrow Cindy is coming over and I think we will get the mini blinds cleaned and put up rods and hang drapes....I have never had drapes hung up in this bed room.  I just did not think this project would take two weeks...I will be so glad to get my house back in some sort of order again😁

Oh Sisters....Where Art Thou

I have been painting for almost a week now...I don't think this bedroom is ever going to get finished!

This old 72 year old does not do a ladder very well...by about 3:00... I just can't do it any more.

I'm going from brown to gray...I sure hope I like it when I finally finish.

I know Betty is ok....but I hope Helen hasn't burnt up and Fleta drown on her walk over dry creek or been butted by a goat to hard!

Happy Father's Day

A day of reflection each year....sure miss my Dad and this special guy!  Hadn't seen this one of Jim until the girls shared it today.

Sam

Sam needs to raise money for his Boy Scout Eagle project.  So..Really worked hard to help Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  He did really well and made $977.  He is really tickled.

Glad you can read this Sisters...I think my whole problem is that when I joined google plus ...everything changed....plus my old blog is connected with AT&T.net..NOW I AM WITH KC.RR.COM AND GMAIL...you can never get directly to help...just discussion boards ....arghh
